RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES FROM THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE FOR A SPECIAL EMPHASIS PROJECT

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo desires to maintain a project designated the San Mateo County Special Emphasis Project to be funded in part from funds made available through the Federal Victim of Crime Act Program administered by the California Office of Emergency Services (hereafter referred to as OES);

WHEREAS, it is agreed that the State of California and OES disclaim any responsibility for any liability, and that any liability arising out of the performance of this Grant Award Agreement, including civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility of the grant recipient and the authorizing agency;

WHEREAS, in order to receive the grant funds, the County must agree to provide all matching funds (or “in-kind match”) required for said project (including any extension or amendment thereof), under the program and the funding terms and conditions of OES, and must further agree that the match will be appropriate as required and that grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant expenditures controlled by this body;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED, that the District Attorney of the County of San Mateo, on behalf of the Board of Supervisors, is authorized to submit a grant application to OES for renewal of its Special Emphasis Project grant, and is further authorized to execute the Grant Award Agreement including any extensions or amendments thereof which do not require commitment of County funds.
