RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF ELECTIONS OFFICE TO RENDER SPECIFIED ELECTION SERVICES FOR THE SAN MATEO COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT, LA HONDA-PESCADERO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT, BELMONT-REDWOOD SHORES SCHOOL DISTRICT, WOODSIDE SCHOOL DISTRICT, SAN CARLOS SCHOOL DISTRICT, CITY OF BELMONT, CITY OF BRISBANE, CITY OF BURLINGAME, CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO, CITY OF FOSTER CITY, CITY OF HALF MOON BAY, CITY OF MILLBRAE, TOWN OF PORTOLA VALLEY, CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, CITY OF SAN BRUNO, CITY OF SAN CARLOS, CITY OF SAN MATEO, AND THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CONSOLIDATED SPECIAL STATEWIDE ELECTION TO BE HELD ON

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2005.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Governing Body of the San Mateo Community College District adopted Resolution No. 05-12 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of submitting a Bond Measure to the voters of the District and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the San Mateo Community College District relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Governing Body of the La Honda-Pescadero Unified School District adopted Resolution No. 06-06-02 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of submitting a Parcel Tax Measure to the voters of the District and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the La Honda-Pescadero Unified School District relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Governing Body of the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District adopted Resolution No. 33 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of submitting a Bond Measure to the voters of the Redwood Shores School Facilities Improvement District and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Governing Body of the Woodside School District adopted Resolution No. 466 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of submitting a Bond Measure to the voters of the District and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the Woodside School District relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Governing Body of the San Carlos School District adopted Resolution No. 01/0506 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of submitting a Bond Measure to the voters of the District and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the San Carlos School District relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Belmont adopted Resolution No. 9677 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing three Members to the City Council, and a Service Agreement has been executed enumerating the services to be rendered by the Chief Elections Officer to the City of San Carlos relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Brisbane adopted Resolution No. 2005-37 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing three Members to the City Council for a term of four years and one Member to the City Council for a term of two years, and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the City of Brisbane relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Burlingame adopted Resolution No. 21-2005 and giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing three Members to the City Council for a term of four years, and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the City of Burlingame relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Burlingame adopted Resolution No. 52-2005 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing one Member to the City Council for a term of two years, and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the City of Burlingame relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Foster City adopted Resolution No. 2005-45 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing two Members to the City Council, and a Service Agreement has been executed enumerating the services to be rendered by the Chief Elections Officer to the City of Foster City relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Half Moon Bay adopted Resolution No. C-30-05 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing three Members to the City Council, and a Service Agreement has been executed enumerating the services to be rendered by the Chief Elections Officer to the City of Half Moon Bay relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Millbrae adopted Resolution No. 05-39 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing two Members to the City Council, and a Service Agreement has been executed enumerating the services to be rendered by the Chief Elections Officer to the City of Millbrae relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the Town of Portola Valley adopted Resolution No. 2178-2005 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing three Members to the City Council, and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the Town of Portola Valley relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Redwood City adopted Resolution No. 14653 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing three Members to the City Council for a term of four years, and a Service Agreement has been executed enumerating the services to be rendered by the Chief Elections Officer to the City of Redwood City relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Redwood City adopted Resolution No. 14652 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing one Member to the City Council for a term of two years, and a Service Agreement has been executed enumerating the services to be rendered by the Chief Elections Officer to the City of Redwood City relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of San Bruno adopted Resolutions No. 2005-053 and No. 2005-054 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing two Members to the City Council, one Mayor, one City Clerk, and one City Treasurer and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the City of San Bruno relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of San Carlos adopted Resolution No. 2005-057 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing three Members to the City Council, and a Service Agreement has been executed enumerating the services to be rendered by the Chief Elections Officer to the City of San Carlos relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of San Mateo adopted Resolution No. 82 (2005) giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing three Members to the City Council, and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the City of San Mateo relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco adopted Resolution No. 61-2005 and No. 62-2005 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of electing three Members to the City Council, a City Clerk, and a City Treasurer, and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the City of San Mateo relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Belmont adopted Resolution No. 9693 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of calling for the placement of an ordinance before the voters of the City on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, and a Service Agreement has been executed enumerating the services to be rendered by the Chief Elections Officer to the City of Belmont relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of East Palo Alto adopted Resolution No. 2500 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of calling for the placement of a tax ordinance and a parcel tax measure before the voters of the City on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the City of East Palo Alto relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Half Moon Bay adopted Resolution No. C-38-05 and Resolution No. C-39-05 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of calling for the placement of two advisory measures before the voters of the City on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 and requesting the Board of Supervisors to permit the Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the City of Half Moon Bay relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Millbrae adopted Resolution No. 05-46 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of calling for the placement of a tax measure before the voters of the City on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 and a Service Agreement has been executed enumerating the services to be rendered by the Chief Elections Officer to the City of Millbrae relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Town Council of the Town of Portola Valley adopted Resolutions No. 2179-2005 and 2195-2005 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of calling for the placement of two tax measures before the voters of the Town on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 and a Service Agreement has been executed enumerating the services to be rendered by the Chief Elections Officer to the Town of Portola Valley relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Redwood City adopted Resolution No. 14661 and Resolution No. 14664 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of calling for the placement of three charter amendment measures before the voters of the City on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 and a Service Agreement has been executed enumerating the services to be rendered by the Chief Elections Officer to the City of Redwood City relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City San Bruno adopted Resolution No. 2005-48 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, for the purpose of calling for the placement of an ordinance before the voters of the City on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 and a Service Agreement has been executed enumerating the services to be rendered by the Chief Elections Officer to the City of San Bruno relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, the Chief Elections Officer has been asked to perform certain services in conjunction with this Election; and

WHEREAS, the Chief Elections Officer is agreeable to providing election services to the San Mateo Community College District, La Honda-Pescadero Unified School District, Belmont-Redwood Shores School District, Woodside School District, San Carlos School District, City of Belmont, City of Brisbane, City of Burlingame, City of Foster City, City of Half Moon Bay, City of Millbrae, Town of Portola Valley, City of Redwood City, City of San Bruno, City of San Carlos, City of San Mateo, City of South San Francisco, and the City of East Palo Alto in conjunction with the Consolidated Special Statewide Election to be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2005; and

WHEREAS, in consideration of services and supplies provided by the Chief Elections officer, the San Mateo Community College District, La Honda-Pescadero Unified School District, Belmont-Redwood Shores School District, Woodside School District, San Carlos School District, City of Belmont, City of Brisbane, City of Burlingame, City of Foster City, City of Half Moon Bay, City of Millbrae, Town of Portola Valley, City of Redwood City, City of San Bruno, City of San Carlos, City of San Mateo, City of South San Francisco, and the City of East Palo Alto will reimburse the County for the costs of these services and supplies.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors authorizes the Chief Elections Officer to render specified election services for the November 8, 2005 Consolidated Special Statewide Election.
