BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION A) ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE REGENTS OF THE UNVIERSITY OF CALIFORNIA FOR $75,000, TO PARTICIPATE IN CONDUCTING A PROGRAM TITLTE “INTEGRATED NURSE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM”; AND
B) AUTHORIZINGTHE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA TO CONDUCT THE PROGRAM FOR THE TERM MARCH 1, 2005 TO MAY 31, 2006

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, The Regents of the University of California is the recipient of a grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation for the conduct of a program titled “Integrated Nurse Leadership Program”; and

WHEREAS, the Program supports Bay Area hospitals in developing and designing pilot projects and in supporting skill development in leadership and management to facilitate change as strategies for improving work environment and nursing related patient outcomes; and

WHEREAS, The Regents of the University of California is awarding San Mateo Medical Center $75,000 to participate in the Program; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Award, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby The Regents of the University of California will allocate funds in the amount of $75,000 for San Mateo Medical Center’s participation in the program “Integrated Nurse Leadership Program”; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement with The Regents of the University of the California to conduct said program for the term March 1, 2005 to May 31, 2006; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the Award and the Agreement and desires to accept the award and enter into the Agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to accept said Award and execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
