BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE INDUSTRIAL EMERGENCY COUNCIL (IEC) FOR PROVISION OF WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION DRILLS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY,
EXTENDING THE TERM ONE (1) MONTH TO JULY 30, 2005 AND INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $13,500 TO $172,500.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that:

WHEREAS, in October 2003, the Sheriff’s Office entered into an Agreement (30000-04-D020) in the amount of $20,000, for the term of October 1, 2003 to September 30, 2004, with IEC to host Introduction to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) classes for Sheriff’s Office personnel; and

WHEREAS, in March 2004, the County Manager’s Office approved Change Order No. 1 to the Agreement which increased the fiscal obligation by $67,200, from $20,000 to $87,200 and extended the term by nine (9) months, from September 30, 2004 to June 30, 2005 for provision of planning and facilitation of additional WMD classes for local jurisdictions and first responders as well as the purchase of several pieces of technical equipment; and

WHEREAS, in February 2005, your Board approved the Second Amendment (Resolution No. 067183) to the Agreement which increased the fiscal obligation by $71,800, from $87,200 to $159,000 for provision of planning and facilitation of 12 separate hands-on Weapons of Mass Destruction exercises throughout the County, prepare and distribute an After Action Report, and produce a WMD Training video; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to further amend the Agreement in order to administer final payment to IEC for two (2) rescue training classes provided to County Fire personnel, therefore extending the term by one (1) month to July 30, 2005 and increasing the contract maximum by $13,500, from $159,000 to $172,500; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Third Amendment and has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT: the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to, execute the Third Amendment to the Agreement with IEC, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
