RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH EDGEWOOD CENTER FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TO PROVIDE THE KINSHIP SUPPORT SERVICES PROGRAM (KSSP) AND KINGAP SERVICES FOR THE TERM JULY 1, 2005 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2006

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, Edgewood Center for Children and Families has successfully provided KSSP and KINGAP services to relative and NREFM caregivers in San Mateo County, and continues to be the provider used by San Francisco for KSSP, and is a sole source provider of such services and, therefore, it is in the best interest of the County to waive the Request for Proposal Process with respect for the continuation of services; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance, an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby Edgewood Center for Children and Families has agreed to provide KSSP and KINGAP services for FY 2005-06 in the amount of $477,105; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Request for Proposal process is waived for said Agreement.
