Discussion
|
Recently there has been a significant increase in the cost of fuel. Since December of 2004, the Internal Revenue Service has increased the mileage reimbursement for employees from $.405 a mile to $.485 a mile, almost a 20% increase. Elected officials, Department Heads, and certain management employees designated by the County Manager may elect to receive such a transportation allowance in lieu of mileage reimbursement. The transportation allowance was increased in December, 2004. The requested action would increase the maximum transportation allowance by a maximum of 10% not to exceed $385 per pay period.
