RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION RELATING TO THE PORTION OF THE CRYSTAL SPRINGS TRAILHEAD ADJACENT TO STATE ROUTE 35 NEAR HIGHWAY 92

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo requested that the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) allow the construction of a trailhead within the State’s right-of-way for the purposes of allowing the County access to the Crystal Springs Regional Trail from this location; and

WHEREAS, a portion of the proposed trail must drain onto State Highway 35 via an under-trail culvert that discharges onto riprap located on the shoulder area of State Highway 35; and

WHEREAS, the modifications as described within the Caltrans right-of-way on State Highway 35 (Skyline Boulevard) shall be maintained by the County; and

WHEREAS, Caltrans has requested that the County enter into a Maintenance Agreement for said modifications; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Environmental Service has recommended that a Maintenance Agreement with Caltrans be executed; and

WHEREAS, this Board has reviewed said Maintenance Agreement and has considered the recommendation of the Director of Environmental Services.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized to execute a Maintenance Agreement with Caltrans and the Clerk of this Board shall attest to the signature of the President thereto.
