RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH CAMINAR FOR THE PERIOD JULY 1, 2005 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2006, FOR A MAXIMUM OBLIGATION OF $5,701,679; AUTHORIZING APPROVAL OF THE WAIVER OF THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL REQUIREMENT PROCESS FOR INTENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT; AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF HEALTH TO EXECUTE SUBSEQUENT AMENDMENTS AND MINOR MODIFICATIONS NOT TO EXCEED AN AGGREGATE OF $25,000 AND TO MAKE MINOR CHANGES IN THE TYPE OF SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES PROVIDED UNDER THE AGREEMENT

 

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance Code Section 2.92.160 authorizes the Board of Supervisors to waive the Request for Proposals process in any situation where the Board of Supervisors determines that the best interest of the county could be served without the necessity of proposals; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been asked to waive the Request for Proposals requirements in order for Mental Health Services to select a contractor who would be best able to provide services in compliance with the results of the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) planning; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has determined that it is in the best interest of the county to waive the Request for Proposals process; and

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby Caminar shall provide residential treatment, rehabilitation services, intensive case management, and community support services for mentally ill clients; and

 

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into an Agreement, whereby Caminar shall provide residential treatment, rehabilitation services, intensive case management, and community support services for mentally ill clients for the period July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006, for a maximum obligation of $5,701,679; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the Agreement:

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Director of Health is authorized to execute subsequent amendments and minor modifications not to exceed an aggregate of $25,000 and to make minor changes in the type of services and activities provided under the Agreement.
