Resolution Authorizing Acceptance of an Avigation Easement from the City of San Carlos and Authorization for the County Manager to Accept Future Avigation Easements on Behalf of the County

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the City of San Carlos (City) has proposed a two-story office light industrial building on the property it owns at 800 Brittan Avenue, which is located within the Avigation Easement Review Area for the San Carlos Airport (Airport) as contained in the San Mateo County Airport Comprehensive Airport Land Use Plan; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that an avigation easement with the City be accepted which provides for the free and unobstructed flight of aircraft over and across the airspace of the property, and notifies the current and future owners of the property that it is located in the vicinity of the Airport and may be subject to the impacts of aircraft operations at the Airport; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works further recommends that future avigation easements as may be provided to the County for the San Carlos and Half Moon Bay Airports be accepted by the County Manager; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has considered and concurs with the recommendations of the Director of Public Works.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

 

1.

The said avigation easement between the County of San Mateo and the City of San Carlos is hereby approved, and the President of this Board is hereby authorized to sign same for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo and the Clerk of the Board shall attest to the President’s signature thereto.

 

2.

The County Manager is authorized to accept future avigation easements as may be offered to the County for the San Carlos and Half Moon Bay Airports.
