BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $146,900 FROM, AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH,
THE NATIONAL FISH AND WILDLIFE FOUNDATION

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation provided $3,500,000 on or about August 17, 2004 to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) for the establishment of the San Francisco Bay Salmonid Habitat Restoration Fund (SF Bay Salmon Fund) as part of the permit requirements for mitigation to offset impacts to salmonids and their habitats associated with the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge East Span Seismic Safety Project; and

 

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Foundation as part of their contract with the County submitted a grant proposal requesting funds for the replacement of a failing culvert in McGarvey Gulch, located in Huddart Park; and

 

WHEREAS, NFWF approved the grant proposal in a maximum amount of $146,900 for the replacement of the McGarvey Gulch culvert; and

 

WHEREAS, NFWF is now prepared to award the grant and requires approval of contract documents; and

 

WHEREAS, County Counsel has reviewed the contract documents as to content and form; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has reviewed said contract documents and considered the recommendation of the Director of Environmental Services Agency.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors accept a grant award from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation in the maximum amount of $146,900; and

 

FURTHER DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized to execute a grant contract with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the Clerk of this Board shall attest to the signature of the President thereto.
