RESOLUTION A) AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT AWARD

FROM THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA UNIVERSITYWIDE AIDS RESEARCH PROGRAM (UARP) TO CONDUCT AIDS RESEARCH, AND B) AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA TO CONDUCT UARP RESEARCH

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Award, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby the Regents of the University of California Universitywide AIDS Research Program (UARP) will allocate funds in an amount not to exceed $374,603 to conduct UARP AIDS research in accordance with its proposal entitled “San Francisco HIV/AIDS Research Center”; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement with The Regents of the University of California to conduct said research for the term July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2006, in an amount not to exceed $374,603; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the Award and the Agreement has examined and approved both as to both form and content and desires to accept the award enter into the Agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to accept said award and execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signatures thereto.
