COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

CAROLINE SHEA

AS MILLBRAE’S

2005 WOMAN OF THE YEAR

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, on this twenty-sixth day of October 2005, CAROLINE SHEA is being honored at Millbrae’s 33rd Annual Man and Woman of the Year Awards Dinner for her outstanding contributions to the City of Millbrae; and

 

WHEREAS, CAROLINE SHEA is well known throughout the community as a tireless advocate for public education as is evidenced by her more than twelve years of dedicated service as a trustee of the Millbrae School District Board of Education including three terms as President; and

 

WHEREAS, for more than twenty years, CAROLINE SHEA has also worked diligently to enrich the lives of Millbrae’s families by focusing her extraordinary efforts on improving the educational, developmental, and physical health needs of children of all ages in our community; and

 

WHEREAS, CAROLINE SHEA has given generously of her time and energy to numerous organizations including the Mills High School Parent Teacher Organization, Millbrae Community Foundation, Millbrae Crime Stoppers, Millbrae Police Department, Millbrae Sports & Recreation Fund, Mills High School Athletic Boosters, Mills Grad Night, Millbrae Lions Girls Softball; and the Mills High School Basketball Team fundraiser; and

   

WHEREAS, CAROLINE SHEA was instrumental in the development and successful passage of a bond measure to retrofit six local high schools and to install state-of–the-art technology and new libraries.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County expresses congratulations to CAROLINE SHEA upon receiving Millbrae’s 2005 Woman of the Year Award and wishes her continued success in her commitment to improve upon the quality of life for children and families in our community.
