Resolution Designating Disabled Parking Zones in Public Rights-Of-Ways

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the State of California Vehicle Code allows a local agency to establish disabled parking zones in public rights-of-ways; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board adopted Resolution No. 57991 establishing a policy for considering applications for disabled parking zones; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has reviewed existing disabled parking zones to determine if said zones comply with the policies as established by this Board; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that there is a continuing need for five (5) disabled parking zones that were previously considered by this Board or installed to aid disabled persons accessing public facilities; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that there is a need for one (1) additional disabled parking zone requested by a resident of the unincorporated area; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has reviewed and concurs with the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

 

1.

Disabled parking zones are declared to exist at the following locations:

 
 

a.

On the westerly side of AVENUE PORTOLA commencing at a point 167 feet northerly of AVENUE ALHAMBRA and extending northerly a distance of 20 feet, more or less.

 
 

b.

On the northerly side of GARDEN LANE commencing at a point 80 feet easterly of EDGEWORTH AVENUE and extending easterly a distance of 30 feet, more or less.

 
 

c.

On the northwesterly side of HURLINGAME AVENUE commencing at a point 125 feet southwesterly of HALSEY AVENUE and extending southwesterly a distance of 30 feet, more or less.

 
 

d.

On the easterly side of REINER STREET commencing at a point 500 feet southerly of SAN PEDRO ROAD and extending southerly a distance of 17 feet, more or less.

 
 

e.

On the easterly side of SECOND AVENUE beginning at a point 250 feet northeasterly of NORTHSIDE AVENUE and extending northeasterly a distance of 30 feet, more or less.

 
 

f.

On the westerly side of WARRINGTON AVENUE commencing at a point 80 feet northerly of HALSEY AVENUE and extending northerly a distance of 30 feet, more or less.

 

2.

Said disabled parking zones shall be in effect for a period of two (2) years from the date of this Resolution unless extended or rescinded by this Board.
