BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS PROCESS

AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERS ASSOCIATES (TEA) TO PROVIDE AND INSTALL EQUIPMENT UPGRADING THE COUNTY’S FIRE SERVICE RADIO SYSTEM.

 

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby TEA shall provide and install equipment necessary to upgrade the existing Fire Service Radio System; and

 

WHEREAS, TEA has been upgrading and installing new radio and communication systems in San Mateo County for the past 18 years; and

 

WHEREAS, since 1999 TEA developed, installed, and maintained the County Fire Service’s radio infrastructure; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to maintain system integrity and minimize risk to the Fire Radio system, the Fire Service would like to have TEA purchase and install the equipment for this project; and

 

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the County to waive the Request for Proposals (RFP) process in order to maintain system integrity and minimize risk to the mission critical operation during implementation; and

 

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into an Agreement for to upgrade the County Fire Service’s radio, data, and communications systems, with a term commencing on September 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006, and in an amount not to exceed $375,000; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same:

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the RFP process is waived, and the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to, executed the Agreement with TEA, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest the Presidents signature thereto.
