RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING

Hon. Lee Panza

Upon His Retirement After

16 Years of Service as a Member of

the City Council of the City of Brisbane

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, Lee Panza was first elected to the City Council of the City of Brisbane in November 1989, after serving his community on the Brisbane Parks and Recreation Commission; and

WHEREAS, during his 16 years on the Brisbane City Council, Lee was twice selected by fellow councilmembers to serve as mayor, first from 1992-1993 and then again from 1997-1998; and

WHEREAS, as a dedicated councilmember, Lee tirelessly represented his city with local, regional as well as statewide organizations, including the Association of Bay Area Governments, the League of California Cities, the San Mateo County Emergency Services Council, the Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance and the City/County Association of Governments; and

WHEREAS, Lee’s selfless work has helped bring financial and economic stability to Brisbane, plus recognition and respect by Brisbane’s municipal neighbors; and

WHEREAS, Lee’s leadership on issues ranging from stormwater drainage to airport land use to building and planning to regional fire protection has been invaluable to Brisbane as well as the rest of San Mateo County.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Lee Panza upon his retirement from the City Council of the City of Brisbane after 16 years of unparalleled public service. The board hereby extends to Lee and his family sincere wishes for luck and success in all future endeavors.
