THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

 

DAN QUIGG

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, on this twenty-second day of November, 2005, DAN QUIGG is honored for more than twelve years of distinguished service to the City of Millbrae as a member of the Millbrae City Council; and

 

WHEREAS, after thirteen years as Treasurer of the City of Millbrae, DAN QUIGG was elected to the Millbrae City Council in 1993 where he served as Mayor in 1996 and 1999; and

 

WHEREAS, during his tenure with the Millbrae City Council, DAN QUIGG served on numerous boards and commissions including the Association of Bay Area Governments, City/County Association of Governments, Airport/Community Roundtable, Airport Land Use Committee, Criminal Justice Council, BART Citizens Advisory Committee, and the BART Impact Traffic and Parking Committee; and

WHEREAS, DAN QUIGG has also been active in the community by serving on numerous civic organizations including First Vice President of the Millbrae Lions, AARP, SIRS, Knights of Columbus, ICF, Millbrae Chamber of Commerce, Millbrae Over 40 Club, Past President of Native Sons of the Golden West #118 and St. Dunstan School Board, as well as being a Boy Scout Leader; and

   

WHEREAS, some of the many accomplishments that highlight DAN QUIGG’s dedication to his community include funding of school crossing guards for all Millbrae schools, the Police Building Remodel and Expansion, a new skate park, Cable Television/Internet/Telephone Franchise Agreement with RCN, repair of the Crestview/Pinehurst Landslide, new storefront projects and numerous landscaping projects throughout the city,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County expresses congratulations to DAN QUIGG for more than twelve years of distinguished service as a member of the Millbrae City Council. His proven leadership, tireless dedication and extraordinary commitment have served the community well.
