BACKGROUND:
On August 16, 2005, your Board approved Resolution 67502. This authorizes an Agreement with Motorola, Inc. for installation of a radio repeater site at the Hall of Justice to improve in-building coverage in the Redwood City area. The cost of this Agreement is $306,562. On behalf of the Sheriff’s Office, ISD is coordinating the project and managing this Agreement.
DISCUSSION:
In addition to addressing coverage in the Redwood City area, ISD is addressing coverage issues in the coastal area. ISD proposes to add three repeater sites, one in Montara, one in San Gregorio, and one mobile repeater will be installed in a SWAT van. The cost of this project will be less than $100,000.
This ATR will give ISD the ability to manage these projects and consolidate the radio equipment inventory with the Radio Services Division.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total amount for this project is $381,000. The total project cost will be charged to the Sheriff’s Office/Capital Projects.
