RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING

 

Raymond L. Green

Upon His Retirement From

The City Council of the City of South San Francisco

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, Raymond L. Green is a Bay Area native and proud 55-year resident of South San Francisco; and

   

WHEREAS, after protecting his city for some 29 years as a firefighter, Ray continued his public service role as a Code Enforcement Officer and as a member of the South San Francisco Personnel Board; and

   

WHEREAS, Ray was elected to a City Council seat in 2001, where he served as mayor from 2004-2005 and where he tirelessly championed South San Francisco’s interests, ranging from airport noise and land-use issues to sister city relations to economic, recreational and public safety needs; and

   

WHEREAS, Ray’s nearly 40 years of public service on behalf of his neighbors and overall community present a model for following generations in South San Francisco as well as the rest of San Mateo County.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Ray Green upon his retirement from the City Council of South San Francisco. The Board hereby extends to Ray and his family sincere wishes for many years of continuous peace and happiness.
