RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES – SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER SUPERVISING CLINICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST, CLINICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST, CYTOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST EQUITIES AND DIFFERENTIALS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board for its consideration, an Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) which provides:

a) a 10% equity increase for the classifications of Supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientist and Clinical Laboratory Scientist; and

b) a 16.4% equity increase for the classification of Cytology Technologist; and

c) a second Clinical Laboratory Scientist 5.74% Lead differential; and

d) differentials for Clinical Laboratory Scientists who are cross-trained and agree to work on the evening or night shift in the amount of 2.5% for two areas of specialization and 5% for three or more areas of specialization; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Employee and Public Services and the CEO of the Medical Center have recommended that said Amendment be approved; and

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors considered the recommendation of both the Director of Employee & Public Services and the CEO of the Medical Center.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors hereby approves said Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees; and the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment on behalf of this Board.
