Resolution Authorizing the Director of Public Works to Apply for Technical Assistance from the California Energy Commission’s Energy Partnership Program and Committing to Seek Funds to Finance the Construction of a Cogeneration Project at the San Mateo Medical Center if it is Determined that a Cogeneration Plant is Cost Effective

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that
|
|
WHEREAS, the California Energy Commission’s Energy Partnership Program provides technical assistance to agencies seeking to identify energy efficiency improvements; and
|
|
WHEREAS, the California Energy Commission (CEC) has limited funds for technical assistance and gives primary consideration to those agencies that are committed to implementing cost effective projects that are identified through the Energy Partnership Program; and
|
|
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that an application for technical assistance be submitted to the CEC to evaluate the construction of a cogeneration plant at the San Mateo Medical Center; and
|
|
WHEREAS, this Board has considered and concurs in the recommendation of the Director of Public Works
|
|
NOW THERFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED AND DETERMINED that:
|

1)

The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to submit an application on behalf of the County of San Mateo to the California Energy Commission, and to sign or execute any other documents that may be needed by the California Energy Commission in processing or approving said application; and
|
|
2)
|
This Board hereby agrees to actively pursue financing of a cogeneration project at San Mateo Medical Center if assistance is provided by the California Energy Commission and a project is determined to be cost effective.
