BACKGROUND:

Since 1993, CDHS has been providing funding to the San Mateo County AIDS Program to provide a continuum of services that includes HIV prevention and education, high risk outreach and testing, case management and AIDS surveillance.

On January 4, 2005, your Board approved an agreement with CDHS for $4,186,170 for the term July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2007 to fund the above-mentioned services. Subsequently, on September 13, 2005, your Board approved Amendment A01, decreasing funding for the HIV Prevention section of the Agreement by $42,152.

DISCUSSION:

CDHS has allocated one-time-only funds in the amount of $71,156 for the HIV Prevention section of the agreement. Funds will be utilized to expand and improve the content, functionality and appearance of the San Mateo County AIDS Program’s website. These enhancements will facilitate dissemination of program and HIV prevention information to current and prospective clients.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the resolution and amendment to the agreement as to form.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment does not alter the term of the original agreement, which is July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2007. The amount of the original agreement was $4,186,170. Amendment A01 decreased the amount of the agreement by $42,152 and Amendment A02 increases the amount of the agreement by $71,156, for a new total contract amount of $4,215,174. These funds were included in the Adopted Budget for FY 2005-06. There is no Net County Cost associated with this amendment.
