District 2 Appointment to San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Commission

Recommendation

Appoint Ro Khanna to represent District 2 on the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Commission, to a term expiring on January 24, 2010.

Background

Richard Biederman has served as District 2’s representative on the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Commission for 11 years and has recently tendered his resignation, effective December 31, 2005. After conducting a thorough search for Mr. Biederman’s replacement, Ro Khanna, who lives within the City of San Mateo, has been selected to sit as a representative for District 2 on the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Commission.
