A County employee since 1990, Roberta has provided direct clinical services to many generations of special education students through School Based Mental Health and the Therapeutic Day School program. She has developed an Annual Student Art Show program to showcase the skills and creativity of County Office of Education students. The Opening Night Celebration, now in its 8th year, is a special occasion for special needs youngsters and their families to come to the school and celebrate their success. She has mentored many Master’s level trainee/interns in creative arts therapies in school settings.
Additionally, she has participated in Community Response Team services and disaster preparedness response, and worked for the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team. In this capacity she has provided skilled crisis intervention in coordination with many community agencies.
In the last two years she has assumed a leadership role in Community Response, representing Mental Health in organization meetings, and at the annual Airport Disaster Drill. She has provided in-service training for multi-agency programs in the area of post traumatic stress prevention through Critical Incident Stress debriefing, vicarious traumatization, and self-care.
Roberta is consistently supportive, energetic, and brings a sense of humor to stressful work. She is always willing to step forward to create positive interventions and programs for clients and staff alike. She very much deserves to be recognized for her contributions to the County.
