RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE

1) AN AGREEMENT WITH PSC ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES FROM DECEMBER 1, 2005 THROUGH NOVEMBER 30, 2008 AND 2) AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH GENERAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT, INC. FROM DECEMBER 2, 2003 THROUGH DECEMBER 1, 2006 TO PROCESS HAZARDOUS WASTE FROM THE COUNTY’S HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITIES, IN THE COLLECTIVE AMOUNT OF $1,606,000

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, PSC now wishes to enter into an Agreement for the term of December 1, 2005 through November 30, 2008, and GEM now wishes to Amend the Agreement with no change to the term of December 2, 2003 through December 1, 2006 to process hazardous waste from the County’s household hazardous waste facilities (HHW), for a total collective obligation under a single resolution of $1,606,000; and

WHEREAS, the amount for FY 2005-06 is $453,860, FY 2006-07 is $476,550, FY 2007-08 is $500,380 and FY 2008-09 is $175,210; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the Agreement with PSC and Amendment with GEM, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, and has examined and approved them as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized to waive the request for bid process and execute the Agreement and Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
