RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING: (1) THE EXECUTION OF AGREEMENTS WITH THE CITY OF DALY CITY AND THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FOR THE PROVISION OF DIFFERENTIAL RESPONSE SERVICES; AND (2) WAIVER OF THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) PROCESS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo, desires to enter into a contract with the City of Daly City and the City of Redwood City through Redwood City 2020, pursuant to which the City of Daly City and the City of Redwood City will provide Differential Response services to at-risk families in their cities for the term of January 1, 2006 through June 30, 2008, for which San Mateo County’s payment amount is $995,210 for the City of Daly City and $907,537 for the City of Redwood City; and

WHEREAS, the City of Daly City and the City of Redwood City through Redwood City 2020 are the two providers who provided Differential Response services in the pilot zip code areas in Daly City and Redwood City and have the experience and expertise to expand and provide the services and it is therefore in the best interest of the County to waive the RFP process; and

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreements for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Request for Proposal process is waived for said Agreements.
