WHEREAS, the Hillside Homeowners Improvement Association incorporated June 6, 1956, as a non-profit, neighborhood organization focused on protecting and maintaining the quality-of-life in Daly City’s Hillside community; and

WHEREAS, for 50 years and counting, the HIAA has spoken on behalf of Daly City residents east of Mission Street, working with groups and individuals, public and private, on matters civic and social, while avoiding the political; and

WHEREAS, over the decades, the Association has contributed myriad resources toward projects large and small, ranging from supporting the city’s anti-graffiti efforts to the development of Guadalupe Canyon Parkway to redirecting bus routes to shaping Daly City’s general plans; and

WHEREAS, recognizing the inherent strength in numbers, the Association played a key role in bringing together more than a dozen neighborhood associations from across Daly City to form the Council of Homeowners and Resident Associations; and

WHEREAS, the HHIA continues to ensure that its members’ voices are heard, and that decision-makers in City Hall and beyond acknowledge and consider the current and future welfare of Hillside residents.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates the Hillside Homeowners Improvement Association in Daly City upon its Golden Anniversary. The Board hereby extends sincere wishes for many more years of continued success and excellence.
