RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH SBC FOR LONG DISTANCE SERVICE AND AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER TO MAKE MINOR MODIFICATIONS TO THIS AGREEMENT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000 AND TO EXTEND THE AGREEMENT FOR TWO OPTIONAL ONE-YEAR EXTENSIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement with SBC for long distance service from February 28, 2006 to February 27, 2009 with an option to renew for two additional one-year terms for a total obligation of $650,000;

WHEREAS, this Board has authorized the Chief Information Officer to make minor modifications to the Agreement in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00;

WHEREAS, this board has authorized the Chief Information Officer to extend this Agreement for two optional one-year extensions if in the best interest of the County; and

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED 1) the Resolution is adopted; 2) the Chief Information Officer is authorized to make minor modifications to this Agreement not to exceed $25,000 and 3) the Chief Information Officer is authorized to extend the Agreement for two optional one-year extensions if in the best interest of the County; the President of the Board of Supervisors is authorized and directed to execute said Agreement as is approved by the County Counsel for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
