BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE SAFETY NET NEEDS ASSESSMENT REPORT AND AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2005/2006 FUNDING FOR THE CORE SERVICES AGENCIES BY $50,000 FROM THE COUNTY GENERAL FUNDS.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, during the County’s budget hearings in June 2005, the seven Core Service Agencies requested additional funding and this Board of Supervisors authorized an increase of $50,000 to the Human Service Agency’s budget and further requested that the Human Services Agency conduct a “Safety Net” needs assessment to determine current and emerging community needs and the agency’s resulting future funding needs;

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance the Safety Net Needs Assessment Report, a copy of which is attached hereto for particulars and which recommends improvements and the expansion of services;

WHEREAS, as a result of the Safety Net Needs Assessment Report, the Human Services Agency recommends that the Board approve an additional $50,000 in funding for core services;

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Safety Needs Assessment Report is hereby accepted; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board hereby approves an increase in funding to the Core Services Agencies in the amount of $50,000 for the fiscal year 2005/2006.
