RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING | ||||
HILLSDALE HIGH SCHOOL’S NEW CONSTRUCTION/MODERNIZATION COMPLETION AND FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY CELELBRATION | ||||

WHEREAS, voters in the San Mateo Union High School District approved a $137.5 million Bond Measure that provided $33 million for new construction and modernization of Hillsdale High School which, along with new formalized entrance access, includes a new Student Services Building, remodeled library, science building and general education classrooms, renovated student cafeteria, theater, art rooms, industrial technology, auditorium and music building, gyms and locker rooms; and | ||||
WHEREAS, the modernization and new construction at Hillsdale High School has been made possible because the Board of Trustees, Retired Superintendent Thomas C. Mohr, community leaders, elected officials, parents, school staff, and the public at large volunteered and persevered through several elections to do that which is in the best interest of youth attending high school in the San Mateo Union High School District; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Hillsdale High School, one of the six comprehensive high schools in the San Mateo Union High School District, is recognized by the United States Department of Education as one of only 260 National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence in the United States, and by the State of California, as one of 216 Digital High Schools and for fifty years has provided innovative and exemplary academic and extracurricular programs for students residing primarily in the Cities of San Mateo and Foster City; and | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby commends HILLSDALE HIGH SCHOOL for its illustrious fifty your history, recognizes the completion of the modernization and new construction and wishes the school continued success in the years to come. | ||||
