RESOLUTION AMENDING SAN MATEO COUNTY’S FEDERAL EARMARK REQUESTS FOR FEDERAL FISCAL YEAR 2007 TO INCLUDE

THE BELMONT LIBRARY PROJECT

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, San Mateo County is in need for funding to support a variety of programs that support the County’s Vision 2010 commitments and goals; and

WHEREAS, each year San Mateo County works with its Congressional delegation to secure federal funding (commonly referred to as earmarks) for specific projects; and

WHEREAS, the Board in prior action approved the following projects: San Mateo County Preschool for All Funding, San Mateo Medical Center Emergency Department Workflow Redesign, Fitzgerald Marine Reserve Interpretive Center, and Emancipated Foster Youth Housing; and

WHEREAS, the Belmont Library Project benefits the San Mateo County Library and residents throughout the County of San Mateo; and

WHEREAS, the Legislative Committee, in consultation with County staff, has reviewed and recommended the Belmont Library Project to be included as part of San Mateo County’s Federal earmark requests for Federal Fiscal Year 2007.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors does hereby approve of San Mateo County’s Federal earmark requests for Federal Fiscal Year 2007 to include the Belmont Library Project.
