RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING | ||||
Gigabox Computers | ||||

WHEREAS, Gigabox Computers is a two-person retailer in Daly City providing clients with computer-support and Web services; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Gigabox co-owners Ms. Cheirie Shum and Mr. Lei Deng declined high-powered Silicon Valley careers to become more involved with communities at the grass-roots level and to use their technology skills to help people; and | ||||
WHEREAS, since 2003, Gigabox has worked with the Children’s Fund of San Mateo County, repairing and refurbishing viable computer equipment donated by groups and individuals who no longer need them; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Gigabox’s generosity has allowed the Children’s Fund and the San Mateo County Human Services Agency to provide functional and updated personal computers to low-income families, bridging the digital divide between those who can afford technology and those who cannot; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Gigabox is acknowledged as a crucial component of the donated computers program and a cornerstone of the project’s overall success. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County recognizes and commends Gigabox Computers of Daly City for helping to close the technology gap in communities throughout San Mateo County. The Board hereby extends its gratitude and adds sincere wishes for many years of business growth and prosperity. | ||||
