BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION (1) WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS REQUIREMENT; (2) AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH HINDERLITER, DE LLAMAS & ASSOCIATES BY EXTENDING THE TERM THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2006 AND INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $200,000; AND (3) AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SUBSEQUENT AMENDMENTS AND MINOR MODIFICATIONS NOT TO EXCEED $25,000 IN THE AGGREGATE AND TO MAKE MINOR CHANGES IN THE TYPE OF SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES PROVIDED UNDER THE AGREEMENT

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County entered into Agreement 80000-05-C005 with Hinderliter, de Llamas & Associates for sales tax analysis, recovery and consulting services for the period July 1, 2004 through December 31, 2005 in the amount of $100,000;

WHEREAS, the best interests of the County of San Mateo would be served by amending the existing Agreement and waiving the Request for Proposal process until such time that a Request for Proposal can be prepared and issued in the Fall 2006 for sales tax analysis, recovery and consulting services;

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Amendment to the Agreement, extending the term through December 31, 2006 and increasing the amount of the Agreement by $200,000, for a maximum obligation of $300,000; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the Amendment to the Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the Amendment to the Agreement;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto;

IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED that the Request for Proposal process is hereby waived; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Manager is authorized to execute subsequent amendments and minor modifications not to exceed $25,000 in aggregate and to make minor changes in the type of services and activities provided under the Agreement.
