RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE DEPUTY SHERIFF’S ASSOCIATION REPRESENTING THE NON-SWORN LAW ENFORCEMENT UNIT – SHERIFF’S OFFICE SUPERVISING CRIMINALIST, SUPERVISING CRIMINALIST-Y, SUPERVISING FORENSIC SPECIALIST, CRIMINALIST AND FORENSIC SPECIALIST CERTIFICATION DIFFERENTIAL

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board for its consideration, an Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Deputy Sheriff’s Association representing the non-sworn Law Enforcement Unit (LEU) which effective with the pay period beginning April 9, 2006 provides for:

a) a five percent (5%) differential for possession of a certification from the American Board of Criminalists or a Latent Print certification from the International Association for Identification; and

b) a two and a half percent (2.5%) differential for possession of a Crime Scene certification from the International Association for Identification; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Employee and Public Services and the San Mateo County Sheriff have recommended that said Amendment be approved; and

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors considered the recommendation of both the Director of Employee and Public Services and the San Mateo County Sheriff.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors hereby approves said Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding with the Deputy Sheriff’s Association representing the non-sworn Law Enforcement Unit; and the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment on behalf of this Board.
