RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO ACCEPT GRANT FUNDING FROM THE PHILANTHROPIC VENTURES FOUNDATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County is committed to reducing health disparities; and

WHEREAS, the County has been awarded $10,000 in grant funding from the Philanthropic Ventures Foundation to support priority health needs; and

WHEREAS, the County wishes to direct the funding to the work of Healthy Communities San Mateo: A Community Health Improvement Initiative to Eliminate Health Disparities, initially focusing on the areas of Childhood Obesity Prevention, Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Prevention, and Linguistic Access to Healthcare, as well as other health disparities issues:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to accept the grant funding from the Philanthropic Ventures Foundation for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
