Appointment to the Confined Animal Technical Advisory Committee

RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that Veronica True of La Honda be appointed to the Confined Animal Technical Advisory Committee as a representative of the Caretaker-Private Stable community. This appointment is for three (3) years ending May 1, 2009.

BACKGROUND:

The Caretaker-Private Stable representative’s seat on the Committee has been vacant since the previous appointee’s term expired on March 31, 2004. Ms. True meets all the prerequisites for Committee membership, including 40 years of training and managing horses, rodeo cattle and commercial cattle.

In addition, Ms. True brings significant experience in associations and boards related to animal husbandry, breeding and agricultural property rights. For the Committee and for the County, Ms. True would bring knowledge and perspectives that have been missing for two years.
