THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS | ||||
RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING | ||||
RUTH NAGLER | ||||

WHEREAS, on this 28th day of April, two thousand and six, RUTH NAGLER is honored for her years of loyal and dedicated community service by the League of Woman Voters of Central San Mateo County; and | ||||
WHEREAS, RUTH NAGLER completed her undergraduate studies at City University of New York and earned her Masters Degree in Education from New York University; and | ||||
WHEREAS, RUTH NAGLER served with distinction on the San Mateo Elementary School Board of Trustees from 1963 to 1973, and was appointed to the San Mateo Library Board of Trustees from 1963 to 1970; and | ||||
WHEREAS, RUTH NAGLER worked as Director of Community Education at Caņada College from 1968 to 1980, and as District-wide Director of Community Education for the San Mateo County Community College District from 1980 to 1988, and most recently has worked as Coordinator of Special Events for the Peninsula Library System; and | ||||
WHEREAS, RUTH NAGLER’s volunteer endeavors are endless, and amongst the organizations she has touched are the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center, the Child Care Coordinating Council, the San Mateo Library Foundation, Mills-Peninsula Senior Focus, the Commission of the Status of Women, the San Mateo Performing Arts Center, the Fatherhood Collaborative, the Woman’s Recovery Association, American Cancer Society, and the League of Women Voters; and | ||||
WHEREAS, RUTH NAGLER has been honored and recognized by countless organizations for her accomplishments, including being inducted into the San Mateo County Woman’s Hall of Fame, and most recently named by Assemblyman Gene Mullin as the 2003 19th Assembly District Woman of the Year; and | ||||
WHEREAS, RUTH NAGLER is renowned for her commitment to our community and to improving the quality of life for all San Mateo County residents, and has demonstrated her leadership through tireless devotion of time and talent, | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County extend their congratulations to RUTH NAGLER for her invaluable contributions to San Mateo County and best wishes for her continued dedication and service to the community. | ||||
