RECOMMENDATION:

A.

Adopt a Resolution:

1.

Accepting a grant from The San Francisco Foundation in the amount of $25,000 to fund a program to determine the most appropriate dental service and oral health education delivery link for low-income pregnant women and their young children.
|

|

2.
|
Authorizing the execution of an Agreement with The San Francisco Foundation to implement the program for the term April 1, 2006 to September 30, 2006.

Approve an Appropriation Transfer Request (ATR) to accept unanticipated revenue ($12,500) and appropriate new revenue to Clinic Administration ($12,500).

BACKGROUND:
|
In February 2006, in collaboration with Public Health, SMMC applied for a grant from The San Francisco Foundation. The primary purpose of the grant is to determine the most appropriate dental service and oral health education delivery link for low-income pregnant women and their young children.

DISCUSSION:
|
In March 15, 2006, The San Francisco Foundation approved a grant to SMMC in the amount of $25,000 for six months to determine the oral health needs of low-income pregnant women and their children. Ultimately the goal of the program is to define and address the oral health needs of pregnant women on Medi-Cal.

FISCAL IMPACT:
|
The grant from The San Francisco Foundation is in the amount of $25,000. The term of the Agreement with the San Francisco Foundation is April 1, 2006 to September 30, 2006. The ATR will add $12,500 to the FY2005-06 Budget and $12,500 will be added to the SMMC 2006-07 Recommended Budget. There is no net county cost associated with this project.
