RESOLUTION WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH STUDIO EM

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the County and the Contractor entered into an Agreement on May 3, 2005 in the amount of $46,500 for services in FY 2004-05 and the term of May 3, 2005 through June 30, 2006 with funding for FY 2005-06 to be in the form of a First Amendment for the purpose of developing media and marketing materials for the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) to market job development; and

 

WHEREAS, the County and the Contractor entered into a First Amendment on October 6, 2005, increasing the amount by $34,410 for services in FY 2005-06; and

 

WHEREAS, the County and the Contractor wish to further amend the Agreement to increase the amount by $75,000, changing the total obligation from $80,910 to $155,910, and extending the term of the Agreement to June 30, 2007 for the purpose of allowing the WIB to continue marketing job development and to allow the Human Services Agency Program Support to create and print the Housing Our People Effectively (HOPE) plan and other HSA materials not yet determined; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors is being asked to waive the Request For Proposal Process as quotes for services were obtained in April of 2005 and pricing rates remain the same; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board agrees that it is in the best interest of the County to waive the Request for Proposal Process and has been presented with a form of such Second Amendment to the Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

1. The Request for Proposal Process be waived with respect to the services to be provided pursuant to the Second Amendment; and

2. The President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Second Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
