RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH JAMES MEIER, M.D. TO PROVIDE OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY SERVICES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

|
WHEREAS, on August 20th, 2002 the Board of Supervisors, by Resolution 65510, authorized an Agreement in the amount of $6,168,000 for the term June 1, 2002 through June 30, 2005 with James Meier, M.D. for the purpose of providing Obstetrics and Gynecology services to the San Mateo Medical Center; and

WHEREAS, on September 13th, 2005 the Board of Supervisors, by Resolution 67548, authorized an Amendment in the amount of $1,200,000 for the term July 1, 2002 through December 31, 2005 with James Meier, M.D. for the purpose of providing Obstetrics and Gynecology services to the San Mateo Medical Center during contract negotiations; and

WHEREAS, on January 31, 2006 the Board of Supervisors, by Resolution 67802, authorized an Amendment in the amount of $514,000 for the term July 1, 2002 through March 31, 2006 with James Meier, M.D. for the purpose of providing Obstetrics and Gynecology services to the San Mateo Medical Center during contract negotiations; and

WHEREAS The Amendment with James Meier, M.D. expired on March 31, 2006 and the San Mateo Medical Center is in prolonged negotiations for Obstetrics and Gynecology services, and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, San Mateo Medical Center now wishes to enter into an Amendment with James Meier, M.D. to provide Obstetrics and Gynecology services for the period April 1, 2006 through June 30, 2006 for a total obligation of $514,000 during the final stage of contract negotiations; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Amendment, reference to which is hereby made, whereby James Meier, M.D. shall continue to provide Obstetrics and Gynecology Surgery services; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the Amendment and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the Amendment:
|

|
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
