THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

 

SERGEANT JONATHAN R. BURKE

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

 

WHEREAS, on this 6th day of June, two thousand and six, SERGEANT JONATHAN R. BURKE is honored for his twenty-five years of dedicated, honorable and faithful service to the City of San Bruno Police Department; and

   
 

WHEREAS, SERGEANT JONATHAN R. BURKE holds a Bachelor of Public Administration/Law Enforcement Leadership Degree from the University of San Francisco, a P.O.S.T Advanced Certificate, a P.O.S.T Supervisory Certificate, and a P.O.S.T Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute Certificate; and

   
 

WHEREAS, SERGEANT JONATHAN R. BURKE began his distinguished career as an Officer in 1980; and

   
 

WHEREAS, SERGEANT JONATHAN R. BURKE has served in a variety of ranks throughout his illustrious career, including Officer, Corporal, Sergeant and Detective Sergeant; and

   
 

WHEREAS, during his tenure with the San Bruno Police Department, SERGEANT JONATHAN R. BURKE has served in numerous capacities including Officer in Charge, Crime Prevention Officer, Court Liaison Officer, Detective, Support Services Corporal, Field Training Officer, Assistant Range Master, Gang Officer and Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving; and

   
 

WHEREAS, SERGEANT JONATHAN R. BURKE has served with distinction, honor, courage, loyalty and compassion toward making our community a safer place to live.

   
 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOVLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County expresses congratulations and sincere gratitude to SERGEANT JONATHAN R. BURKE for twenty-five years of extraordinary and outstanding service to the City of San Bruno, and wishes him happiness and good health upon his retirement from the San Bruno Police Department.
