BACKGROUND:

On August 11, 2005, the County Manager approved five (5) Agreements with the CSAs including an Agreement with the City of Daly City – Daly City Community Center. The City of Daly City - Daly City Community Center is one of the seven (7) CSAs which provide an array of services to the residents of San Mateo County, including information and referral, emergency assistance, case management and other related services. The CSAs also provide access to the County’s Human Services Delivery System and serve as part of the network to prevent homelessness.

DISCUSSION:

On February 28, 2006, the Board of Supervisors passed Resolution Number 067820, accepting the Safety Net Services Needs Assessment Report and authorized an increase of funding in the amount of $50,000, for Fiscal Year 2005-06 for the CSAs. The additional funds are to partially restore CSA’s Safety Net Services to their prior funding level.

The need for this additional funding is the result of an increase in Safety Net Services and funding decreases of CSA’s revenue sources. As a result of this Amendment the City of Daly City – Daly City Community Center will receive $17,738 from the County General Fund for the Safety Net Services.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The term of the Agreement is July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006. This Amendment increases the Agreement by $17,738 for the total obligation of $115,507. There are sufficient appropriations for this Amendment in the FY 2005-06 Adopted Budget. The Agency’s Net County Cost increase of $17,738 was approved by the Board of Supervisors on February 28, 2006.
