RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT FOR YOUTH SERVICES WITH OPPORTUNITIES INDUSTRIALIZATION CENTER-WEST (OICW)

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, in 2004 a Request for Proposal (RFP) was conducted for FY 2004-07, for Youth Services and OICW (the “Contractor”) was chosen to provide training, internship and employment services as a result of the RFP; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors approved the County to enter into an Agreement with Contractor by Resolution Number 067446, on April 1, 2005, to provide Specialized Youth Services for the term of March 1, 2005 through June 30, 2005, and generalized Comprehensive Year-Round Youth Services for the term of April 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006 in the amount of $631,000; and

WHEREAS, the County and Contractor wish to enter into a First Amendment to the Agreement to increase the amount by $253,900 and extend the term to provide continuing generalized Comprehensive Year-Round Youth Services through June 30, 2007. The maximum aggregate amount to be paid to the Contractor pursuant to the Agreement shall be $884,900; and

WHEREAS, such services will conform to all WIA requirements; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such First Amendment to the Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said First Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
