RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH OPPORTUNITIES INDUSTRIALIZATION CENTER WEST FOR ONE-STOP CAREER CENTER SERVICES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, in 2005, the Workforce Investment Board appointed Opportunities Industrialization Center-West (OICW) as a One-Stop Operator per Section 121 of the 1998 Workforce Investment Act, to provide structured job search workshops and network activities to Workforce Investment Act eligible participants for FY 2005-06, and pursuant to Resolution Number 067748, this Board of Supervisors approved the execution of an Agreement with OICW to provide One-Stop Career Center services in the amount of $223,000 for the term of July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006; and

 

WHEREAS, the Workforce Investment Board has appointed Opportunities Industrialization Center-West (OICW) as a One-Stop Operator per Section 121 of the 1998 Workforce Investment Act, to provide structured job search workshops and network activities to Workforce Investment Act eligible participants for FY 2006-07; and

 

WHEREAS, the County and OICW wish to amend the Agreement to increase the amount by $237,000 for a total obligation of $460,000 and extend the term to June 30, 2007 to match the extension of the current Strategic Plan; and

 

WHEREAS, such services will conform to all WIA requirements; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form such Amendment to the Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
