RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING (1) THE EXECUTION OF A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH SHELTER NETWORK FOR THE PURPOSE OF INCREASING FUNDING FOR THE OPERATION OF THE MOTEL VOUCHER PROGRAM AND TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR FAMILIES WITH SPECIAL NEEDS PROGRAM

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on September 27, 2005, the Board of Supervisors authorized the execution of an Agreement, in the amount of $416,120, for the term of July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2006, for the purpose of providing the Motel Voucher Program and Transitional Housing for Families with Special Needs Program; and

 

WHEREAS, on April 18, 2006, due to an unexpected increase in the number of motel nights demanded and utilized by the program participants, the Board of Supervisor authorized the execution of a First Amendment to the Agreement for the purpose of increasing the funding under the Agreement by an additional $125,000, for a total obligation of $541,120, with the term of the Agreement, July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006 remaining the same; and

 

WHEREAS, the parties now wish to further amend the Agreement to increase the funding under the Agreement by an additional $80,000, for a total obligation of $621,120 due to further increases in the number of motel nights demanded and utilized by the program participants with the term of the Agreement remaining July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the Second Amendment to the Agreement and has examined and approved such Amendment as to both form and content and desires to enter into this Second Amendment to the Agreement; and

 

    NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the

President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute

said Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall

attest the President’s signature thereto.
