BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS PROCESS

AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE SERVICE LEAGUE OF SAN MATEO COUNTY
TO PROVIDE INMATE SERVICES IN THE COUNTY’S DETENTION FACILITIES.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby the Service League of San Mateo County shall provide inmate services in the County’s detention facilities; and

WHEREAS, the Service League of San Mateo County has been providing services to inmates in the County’s detention facilities for more than a decade; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the County to waive the Request for Proposals process because the Service League of San Mateo County is the sole cost-effective source of the type of inmate services that it provides; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into the Agreement, for a one-year term,
July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007, for an amount not to exceed $509,459; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT: the Request for Proposals process is waived, and the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to, execute the Agreement with the Service League of San Mateo County, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
