Proclamation

THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA DESIGNATING AUGUST 6TH, 2006 AS

TOUR DE PENINSULA DAY

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, the Tour de Peninsula Day have become an annual event providing an opportunity to celebrate bicycle riding and the beauty of San Mateo County; and

   

WHEREAS, the Tour de Peninsula is a bicycle tour and not a race allowing people of all ages and abilities to participate; and

   

WHEREAS, the Tour de Peninsula follows a course through the San Mateo communities of Redwood City, San Carlos, Belmont, San Mateo, Burlingame, Hillsborough, Millbrae, and unincorporated areas including the Sawyer Camp Trail of the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Department; and

   

WHEREAS, the Tour de Peninsula is a benefit for the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Foundation with event proceeds supporting the programs of the foundation;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby declares August 6th, 2006 as “Tour de Peninsula Day” in San Mateo County.
