THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

 

PAUL HACKLEMAN

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, on this 26th day of June, two thousand and six, PAUL HACKLEMAN is honored for his years of loyal and dedicated service as the County of San Mateo’s Benefits Manager by being named the 2006 Crain Communications Inc.’s Business Insurance Benefit Manager of the Year; and

   

WHEREAS, PAUL HACKLEMAN has worked with San Mateo County for over three decades, and has established and currently manages numerous innovative programs that have benefited countless County employees; and

   

WHEREAS, PAUL HACKLEMAN initiated Work-Life programs for the County of San Mateo, such as the Dependent Care Assistance Plan (DCAP), Voluntary Time Off Program, Catastrophic Leave Program, the Babies and You Program, Homebuyers Program, Mediation Program, Health Flexible Spending Account Program, and contributed in the construction and opening of the County Child Care Center; and

   

WHEREAS, PAUL HACKLEMAN set a precedent with the help of Stanford University’s Center for Disease Prevention by incorporating a Cardiovascular Risk Assessment (CRA) program into the County’s health plan; and

   

WHEREAS, PAUL HACKLEMAN developed a telecommuting program that simultaneously helped the County of San Mateo meet its Statewide Transportation System Management (TSM) obligations regarding reduction of vehicle traffic and emissions while providing a benefit for workers by creating a remote County office location that significantly shortened the commute of many employees; and

   

WHEREAS, PAUL HACKLEMAN has the ability to work with diverse representatives of the community and other organizations to build programs around mutually attractive objectives, and has demonstrated his commitment through tireless devotion of time and talent,

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County extend their congratulations to PAUL HACKLEMAN upon being selected the recipient as the Crain Communications Inc.’s Business Insurance Benefit Manager of the Year and best wishes for his continued service to County employees and the community.
