AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING THE OFFICE OF REVENUE SERVICES TO

TAX COLLECTOR-TREASURER

    The Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, ordains as follow:

    SECTION 1. Section 2.108.010 is hereby amended to read as follows:

    Section 2.108.010 Creation of office.

    There is hereby created an Office of Revenue Services which shall be within the Department of Tax Collector-Treasurer, who shall have the duty to appoint the Revenue Services Manager and to direct and supervise the operations of the office.

    SECTION 2. Section 2.108.020 is hereby amended to read as follows:

    Section 2.108.020 Duties of Revenue Services Manager.

    The Revenue Services Manager shall operate the office under the general supervision and direction of the Tax Collector-Treasurer, for the purpose of collecting any and all monies due and owing by private individuals to the various other departments and special districts of the County for which the Board of Supervisors serves as the governing board. Any collection efforts as against other public agencies shall only be engaged in by the Revenue Services Manager at the specific direction of the Tax Collector-Treasurer. The entire resources, services, and expertise of the Revenue Services office shall be made available to all County departments.

    SECTION 3. Section 2.152.020 is hereby amended to read as follows:

    Section 2.152.020 Duties of the Director of Employee and Public Services.

    The Director of Employee and Public Services shall be responsible for services and activities related to personnel, including recruitment, selection, classification and the amount of compensation of County employees, labor relations and employee benefits administration, organizational development and training; risk management; safety; insurance; reprographic, mail and related services; communication services; or such services as may be assigned by the County Manager.

 

    SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after its adoption.
