BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE LAW FIRM OF FOLEY AND LARDNER NOT TO EXCEED $25,000

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, County desires to retain Foley & Lardner to assist the County in its efforts to obtain maximum supplemental Medi-Cal payments under the new Medi-Cal redesign system; and;

WHEREAS, Foley & Lardner has both the qualified personnel and expertise to provide such legal and associated services as a re necessary and it is ready, willing and able to now provide such services upon request of County; and;

WHEREAS, an agreement for such services for the term of August 1, 2006 through July 31, 2008 and not to exceed $25,000 has been proposed and reviewed by this Board, which desires to enter into same;

WHEREAS, Foley & Lardner provide equal benefits with the exception of health benefits for opposite sex domestic partners;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the equal benefits ordinance is waived as it pertains to health benefits for opposite sex domestic partners and that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute the agreement with the law firm of Foley & Lardner on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature hereto.
