Resolution Authorizing Execution of an Agreement with Carrier Commercial Service for the Maintenance of the Cogeneration and Absorption Chiller Equipment at Youth Services Center

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that
|
|
WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors, on October 22, 2002, adopted Resolution No. 65620, which resolution authorized the construction of the Youth Services Center, a component of which is a cogeneration plant to provide electricity, heating and cooling to the facility; and
|
|
WHEREAS, the installation of the cogeneration plant qualifies for a one-time incentive of $700,000 from the California Public Utilities Commission program (Self-Generation Incentive Program) that is administered by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E); and
|
|
WHEREAS, a condition of receiving the $700,000 incentive is a guarantee satisfactory to PG&E, that the equipment will be maintained for a period of at least three years; and
|
|
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended the execution of an agreement with Carrier Commercial Services to provide said maintenance; and
|
|
WHEREAS, this Board has considered and concurs in the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

|
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Carrier Commercial Service for the maintenance and warranty of the cogeneration and absorption chiller equipment at the Youth Services Center for a four-year period, with the option of extending for one (1) additional year, for a total amount not to exceed $500,000, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
